Meet The Creators
Kinny Box was created by Ashley, an elementary school teacher and counselor for 8 years before becoming a stay at home mom. She loves doing learning activities at home with her toddler and wanted to find a way to help others do the same. Ashley has poured her heart into developing monthly-themed lessons that are easy for anyone to implement at home with a toddler.
Credentials:
- Bachelors in Early Childhood Education
- Bachelors in Special Education
- Masters in School Counseling
- 5 years as an elementary school teacher (4 years in regular education, 1 year in special education)
- 3 years as an elementary school counselor
Finn (also known as Kinny) is the mascot of Kinny Box. When trying to determine a name for Kinny Box, Ashley was thinking of cute words her toddler mispronounces. For a long time she said Kinny instead of Finny. Simultaneously, Ashley knew she wanted there to be a reading component for every lesson plan and was thinking about writing mini books to go along with the lessons. That's when it all came together and Kinny was born- our mascot and main character of Kinny Box!
